Description

Creating Valentine’s Day Pizza Roses is a delightful way to impress your loved ones with a fun and delicious treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices (or your choice of toppings)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Olive oil, for brushing
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Cut the dough into strips that are approximately 2 inches wide and 6 inches long.
  4. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each strip of dough.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  6. Place pepperoni slices (or other toppings) along the edge of each dough strip, slightly overlapping them.
  7. Fold the dough strip in half lengthwise, encasing the toppings.
  8. Starting from one end, gently roll the folded dough into a rose shape. Pinch the bottom to secure.
  9. Arrange the rolled pizza roses on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  10. Lightly brush the tops of the pizza roses with olive oil and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
  11. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  12. Remove from the oven and let cool for about 10-15 minutes.
  13. If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color.

Notes

  • Ensure to roll the dough evenly to prevent uneven cooking.
  • You can customize the toppings based on your preference.
