Creating Valentine’s Day Pizza Roses is a delightful way to impress your loved ones with a fun and delicious treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup pepperoni slices (or your choice of toppings)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Olive oil, for brushing
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into strips that are approximately 2 inches wide and 6 inches long.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each strip of dough.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Place pepperoni slices (or other toppings) along the edge of each dough strip, slightly overlapping them.
- Fold the dough strip in half lengthwise, encasing the toppings.
- Starting from one end, gently roll the folded dough into a rose shape. Pinch the bottom to secure.
- Arrange the rolled pizza roses on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
- Lightly brush the tops of the pizza roses with olive oil and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for about 10-15 minutes.
- If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color.
Notes
- Ensure to roll the dough evenly to prevent uneven cooking.
- You can customize the toppings based on your preference.
