Description
Creating Swordfish with Citrus Salsa is easy when you follow these steps.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pieces swordfish steaks (approximately 6 ounces each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup diced oranges
- 1 cup diced grapefruits
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional for heat)
- Juice of 2 limes
- Zest of 1 lime
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the diced oranges, grapefruits, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño (if using), lime juice, and lime zest. Mix well and set aside to allow the flavors to meld.
- Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Season the Fish: Brush the swordfish steaks with olive oil and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Grill the Fish: Place the swordfish steaks on the preheated grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has nice grill marks. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Once cooked, remove the swordfish from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
- Spoon the citrus salsa generously over each swordfish steak.
- If desired, garnish with additional cilantro for an extra pop of color.
- Plate the swordfish with your choice of side dishes and enjoy!
Notes
- You can substitute with other citrus fruits based on availability.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less jalapeño.
