Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water with sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Gradually mix in flour and salt until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic (about 10 minutes).
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the dough and spread it into a greased baking pan, making dimples with your fingers.
- Spoon dollops of jam into the dimples.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
