Description
A hearty and delicious casserole made with layers of ground beef, potatoes, and cheese.

- 2 pounds ground beef
- 6 medium russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 large yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter (for greasing the baking dish)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or spray.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Drain excess fat.
- Layer half of the potatoes in the baking dish. Add half the beef mixture and a sprinkle of cheese. Repeat layers, ending with potatoes.
- In a bowl, whisk the cream of mushroom soup with milk. Pour over casserole. Top with remaining cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

- This dish is great for leftovers and can be frozen for future meals.
