- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup blueberries
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter and pour into an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Add the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the blueberries gently to avoid crushing.
- Transfer the dough into the buttered baking dish and spread evenly.
- Score the top into 9 squares using a knife.
- Bake for 25–28 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Let rest for 5 minutes. Serve warm with honey or jam if desired.
