Description

A rich and creamy chocolate mousse that’s perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Chop the dark chocolate and place it with butter in a heatproof bowl.
  2. Heat the heavy cream until just simmering then pour over the chocolate and whisk until smooth.
  3. Whisk egg yolks with sugar then temper with warm chocolate mixture before combining fully.
  4. Add vanilla and salt and let the mixture cool slightly.
  5. Whip remaining cream to soft peaks and gently fold into the chocolate base using a spatula.
  6. Divide the mousse into cups, smooth the tops, and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

  • For a lighter mousse, ensure the whipped cream is folded gently.
  • You can garnish with chocolate shavings or berries before serving.
