A delicious cherry trifle made with chocolate cake, cherry pie filling, and whipped cream.
Ingredients

- 3 cups chocolate cake, cubed
- 1 ½ cups cherry pie filling or jarred cherries
- 2 cups whipped cream
- ¼ cup chocolate shavings
- 2 tablespoons cherry liqueur (optional)
Instructions
- Bake your chocolate cake if needed and let it cool. Cut into 1-inch cubes.
- Whip the cream until stiff peaks form, adding vanilla or sugar if desired.
- In a trifle dish, layer cake cubes, cherries with some juice, and whipped cream. Repeat the layers.
- Top with the final layer of whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings and whole cherries.
- Chill the trifle for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- This can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- For added flavor, you can infuse the whipped cream with vanilla or almond extract.
