Description

Deliciously creamy and fruity air fryer toast made with Greek yogurt custard filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices brioche bread (or any soft thick-cut bread)
  • 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Fresh fruit for topping (berries, sliced bananas, peaches, etc.)
  • Powdered sugar (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the custard base: In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, egg, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract until smooth. The mixture should be thick but pourable—creamy like a loose pudding.
  2. Prepare the bread: Use the back of a spoon to press down the center of each bread slice, creating a well or indentation without tearing the crust. This creates a little “bowl” to hold the custard.
  3. Add the custard filling: Spoon the yogurt custard into the well of each bread slice, filling generously but not overflowing. The edges of the bread will keep everything in place.
  4. Add toppings: Top the custard with your favorite sliced fruits. Berries, banana slices, or thin peach wedges work wonderfully here. Don’t overload it—just a few pieces will caramelize beautifully in the air fryer.
  5. Air fry: Carefully place the toast in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F for 6–8 minutes, or until the custard is set and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
  6. Serve: Dust with powdered sugar if you like, and serve warm. It’s crisp on the outside, soft in the center, and bursting with fruity sweetness in every bite.

Notes

  • This recipe can be easily customized with different fruits based on seasonal availability.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of maple syrup or honey based on your preference.
