Deliciously crispy air fryer cinnamon apple rings coated in a sweet cinnamon-sugar mixture. Perfect for a healthy snack or dessert!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted, for brushing)
- nonstick spray (for air fryer)
Instructions
- Core and slice the apples into 1/4-inch thick rings. Peel if desired. Pat dry with paper towels.
- Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour and salt, one with eggs, milk, and vanilla whisked together, and one with 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon (reserve the rest for dusting).
- Dip each apple ring into the flour, then the egg-milk mixture, then coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place coated rings on a tray.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray the basket with nonstick spray. Arrange rings in a single layer.
- Air fry for 5–7 minutes per side, flipping once, until golden and crisp.
- While hot, brush apple rings with melted butter and toss in the remaining cinnamon-sugar (1/3 cup sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon) for a sparkling finish.
- Serve immediately while warm for best texture.
Notes
- Feel free to adjust the amount of cinnamon sugar to your preference.
- Try using different types of apples for varying sweetness and flavor.
